Flancer’s still is looking for a few more competitors for its 13th annual Pizza Eating Contest, a charity fundraiser for Warfighter Sports, at 11 a.m. Sunday at its Gilbert location.
For their $30 entry fee, contestants get a commemorative shirt and all the pizza they can eat in 15 minutes. The competition, which draws both serious and casual entrants, awards $500 to the winner and is open to the public to watch.

The pizza contest is just one of several events Flancer’s is hosting this month to raise money for Warfighter Sports, which helps rehabilitate wounded soldiers through sports.
Raffle tickets still are available for a half-dozen $1,000 prizes, including shopping sprees or cash. You can purchase them here.
Last year, Flancer’s raised $29,000 for Warfighter Sports. This year, it’s hoping to reach $35,000.
