The Pecan Grove Restaurant and Pie Co. has opened in the former Native New Yorker space on the northwest corner of Alma School and Chandler Heights in south Chandler.
The restaurant, which opens at 7 a.m. daily, offers a short menu of basic breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, but it’s the pies – $2.50-$3.50 per slice or $13-$14 whole – that take center stage.
The “Favorites” section features 10 pies: cream cheese, Kahlua cream cheese, lemon cream cheese, custard, French silk, pumpkin, pecan, French apple, lemon meringue, and Sweetheart (cherries with chocolate cream).
There are eight cream pies – butterscotch, banana, coconut, peanut butter, peanut butter cup, chocolate, German chocolate, and Black Bottom (chocolate cream beneath rum-flavored vanilla) – and seven sour cream pies – raisin, pineapple, lemon, apple, cherry, blueberry, and berry.
“Two Crust” pies are apple, berry, cherry, rhubarb, strawberry-rhubarb, raisin, apricot, blueberry, and peach.
