Flanny’s to feature Widmer Brothers Hefeweizen & 6 other ales on tap Friday

Enjoy seven Widmer Brothers beers – some on tap for the first time – when Flanny’s hosts a promo night for the Portland brewery at 6 p.m. Friday.

Widmer Brothers was launched by Kurt and Robert Widmer in 1984, making it one of America’s longest-running craft brands.

(Although it no longer technically meets the Brewers Association’s definition of a craft brewery because Anheuser-Busch owns 32%, but that’s getting a little into the weeds…)

Friday’s tap list will feature Widmer’s flagship Hefeweizen, which lays claim to being the first American-style hefe, introduced in 1986.

Other beers: Alchemy pale ale, Citra Blonde Summer Brew, Hopside Down India-style pale lager, Marionberry Hibiscus Gose, Barrel Aged Brrrbon ’12 red ale, and Kill Devil brown ale.
