If it’s mid-May, it’s time to pick peaches.
Schnepf Farms in Queen starts its annual Peach Festival on Saturday with a peach-sampling pavilion, peach foods ranging from pancakes to pies, hay rides to the orchards, craft vendors, and live music.
Admission is free, but there’s a small charge per basket for peaches. Hours are 7:30 a.m.- 4 p.m.
The festival continues Sunday and May 25-27.
The Farm at Agritopia, near Higley and Ray in Gilbert, also is inviting people out to pick their own peaches from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday. Again, there’s a small charge per basket.
