Beaver Choice, the East Valley’s critically acclaimed Swedish/Polish/Canadian restaurant, finally reopens today in its new, larger space on the southeast corner of Baseline and Extension in Mesa.
The restaurant opened in 2010, but closed its original space at McClintock and Broadway in Tempe in January and had hoped to open in Mesa in February.
Owner/chef Hanna Gabrielsson promises all the favorite entrees – from schnitzel to poutine – remain on the menu, but she has added a number of new appetizers, salads, and desserts.
The new strip-mall space, formerly the Ripe Tomato Cafe, includes a full bar, which will offer some traditional Swedish libations.
Hours are 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11-2:30 and 5-10 Friday, and 11-10 Saturday.
