Tonight’s Friday Beer Class at Whole Foods Chandler goes Down Under. The informal tasting will turn its attention to Epic Brewing – the one in Auckland, New Zealand, not the one in Salt Lake City.
Although Epic is known for hops-heavy creations, the night’s most unusual offering undoubtably is Epic Epicurean, an imperial stout made with Turkish figs, Ethiopian coffee, and Philippine coconut.
Also of note is First Batch NZIPA, the first commercial beer brewed with Waimea hops, a brand-new variety. Other beers are Epic’s flaship Pale Ale, Lager, Double Stout, and Message in a Bottle IPA.
For just $5, you get samples of all six beers. The fun starts at 7 p.m.
