Friday Beer Class to feature Green Flash’s just-released Citra Session IPA

Green Flash Brewing from San Diego will be the subject of tonight’s Friday Beer Class at Whole Foods Chandler. The informal tasting, which costs $5, will feature samples of five Green Flash ales.

Highlighting the evening will be Citra Session IPA (just 4.5% ABV), the just-released third installment in Green Flash’s Hop Odyssey series. The brewery is releasing a hop-centric, draft-only beer every other month this year.

Three of Green Flash’s most-acclaimed beers will be present – Imperial Red Rye IPA, the second Hop Odyssey release; Le Freak, a combo of Belgian Trippel and American imperial IPA; and Double Stout, a 2010 World Beer Cup silver medalist.

The fifth beer will be East Village Pilsner, formerly known as Fizzy Yellow Beer. The tasting starts at 7 p.m.
