Grab your floral shirts, grass skirts and leis – SanTan Brewing hosts its fifth annual Hawaiian Luau & Pig Roast all day Saturday at the downtown Chandler brew pub.
A special menu will feature Hawaiian favorites like pulled pork, loki salmon, steamed rice, and macaroni salad. There also will be haupia, a traditional Jell-O-like dessert made with coconut milk.
The drink of the day will be Mr. Pineapple wheat beer. SanTan introduced the fruit-tinged version of its Hefeweizen at the 2010 luau. It proved so popular that it has become an annual summer seasonal.
There also will be a variety of surfer music all day.
(Note: Saturday also is Summer Splash in downtown Chandler. From 9 a.m.-1 p.m., the free, kid-friendly event will include swimming lessons, water slides, games, bounce houses, Radio Disney music, and food vendors.)
