Michael O’Dowd, who spent 10 years as chef at nationally acclaimed Kai at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa near Chandler, has a new project: a motorcycle-themed restaurant called Fork & Torque in Tempe.
According to Republic dining critic Howard Seftel, the diner-style Fork & Torque will offer a smokehouse menu in a environment O’Dowd assures while be “friendly” for women, children, and non-motorcycle enthusiasts.
The restaurant will be part of a seven-acre Motorsports Fork & Torque complex at McClintock and Curry that also will include a motorcycle and hot-rod dealership, a 5,000-seat concert venue, and a clothing store.
O’Dowd and business partner Ed Leclere, a Harley-Davidson promoter, opened Renegade by MOD – a reinventing of the three-year-old Renegade Canteen – in Scottsdale in late May. They hope to open Fork & Torque in September.
