The Deli in Queen Creek to drop dinner, add breakfast after 2-week hiatus

The good news: Queen Creek residents are about to get a great new breakfast spot. The bad news: They’re going to lose their best dinner option.

The Deli, the critically acclaimed eatery opened by Blake and Nicole Matsyk in 2008, is discontinuing dinner service after this Saturday when it goes on its annual two-week summer hiatus.

When it re-opens Thursday, July 11, The Deli will begin serving breakfast. It made the announcement on its Facebook page:

It’s a fresh start for the deli in Queen Creek. After five years of our guests asking us when we’re going to start serving breakfast, it is time! With our son, Miles, starting first grade soon, it’s important for us to have the evenings with him and cutting our dinner service makes the most sense. So, we are making big changes and switching our menu to breakfast and lunch. Our new hours will be Wednesday through Sunday (yes, we will be open on Sundays, now!) from 7 am until 3 pm. We’ll be serving breakfast all day and our lunch service will start at 1030am. We’re keeping all of the favorites from our lunch menu and adding some new items, like a bruschetta board, new salads and more flatbread pizzas. Biscuits and sausage gravy, pancakes, omelettes and pastrami hash and eggs are just a few of the items on our new breakfast menu. As always, we are cooking from scratch and using all local, natural and organic products whenever possible.
