Guerrero’s Mexican Food confirms it will close July 31 after 31 years in business

It’s official. Guerrero’s, a Tempe mom-and-pop restaurant that’s been dishing out above-average Mexican food for 31 years, will close July 31, it confirms on its Facebook page:

Guerrero’s Mexican Food is sad to announce that after 31 years of serving the finest Mexican food in Tempe it will be closing its doors for the last time on July 31, 2013

The pending closure was first reported in May by David Bickford on his PHX Rail Food blog. The restaurant would be razed as part of a planned Apache Villas development if the real-estate deal goes through, according to PHX Rail Food.
