It’s Craft Beer Thursday! Here are today’s events around the East Valley

It’s Thursday, which means craft beer promos…

• At 5:30 p.m., Sleepy Dog in Gilbert will host a Full Sail tap takeover, selling $6 sampler flights and $4 pints of the Oregon brewery’s beers.

• At 6 p.m., Bison Witches in Tempe will host Summer Time Blues Flight Night featuring Ska Mexican Logger, Bridgeport Summer Squeeze, Anderson Valley Summer Solstice, SanTan Mr. Pineapple, and Green Flash Saison Diego. For $10, you get five 3-ounce samples, plus a full pint/can. Beer Kristine will be handing out shwag.

• At 6 p.m., Taste of Tops in Tempe celebrates the release of Deschutes Black Butte XXV, the 25th anniversary version of the Oregon brewery’s porter. Also on tap: Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA.

• At 6:30, Papago Brewing in Scottsdale hosts “Back to Basics,” a 90-minute panel discussion on the birth and evolution of the craft beer movement. Admission is $10, which includes beer samples. Read more about it here.
