Pittsburgh Willy’s hot dog shop to open spinoff location in downtown Chandler

It’s official: Pittsburgh Willy’s Dog House, a spinoff of Pittsburgh Willy’s hot dog shop, is coming to downtown Chandler this fall.

Owner Randy Walters confirms he signed a lease last week to take over a pale yellow house surrounded by a picket about a half-block behind (west) of SanTan Brewing Co.

The new location will be less than two miles from the current Pittsburgh Willy’s in the Merchant’s Square antique mall on Arizona Avenue, a quarter-mile south of Warner. Walters plans to keep the original location open.

The new location will feature the same lineup of specialty hot dogs, but not the sandwiches (or the Wednesday-only pierogies) – at least not in the beginning.

There is still much remodeling work to be done. The front-yard dirt will be replaced by pavers, which will be home to umbrella-shaded tables. Inside, an entire kitchen must be set up.

Walters says he hopes to open in mid-September.
