Longtime Mesa bar & grill Hollywood Alley to close at end of month

Hollywood Alley, an East Valley institution for a quarter-century, has announced its closing its doors at the end of the month.

The Mesa venue, located on Baseline just east of the 101, made the announcement on its Facebook page.

Best known as a live-music bar – I can’t think of a local band of note that hasn’t played there – Hollywood Alley served a full menu of burgers and pizzas from a kitchen overseen by owner Ross Wincek‘s grandmother.

The bar and grill says plans for a 25th anniversary celebration next month will be moved up to later this month.
