By the end of this week, you’ll be able to make reservations directly on 20,000 U.S. restaurants’ Facebook pages, thanks to the social media giant’s new integration with OpenTable.
Unlike OpenTable’s integration with Yelp and Google Maps, which requires users to open a new browser window, Facebook will allow users to make reservations without leaving the restaurant’s Facebook page.
You won’t have to register with OpenTable, and reservations won’t show up on your timeline (even if you want them to).
The service only will be available via Facebook’s mobile app to start. Facebook will test its performance before rolling it out on desktop computers.
