The new Gilbert location of World of Beer, scheduled to open late this year at SanTan Village, already has scheduled its first event – and it’s a doozy.
A Sierra Nevada tap takeover will take place Saturday, Jan. 18, and WOB will be trying to set a world record for the biggest tap takeover.
The current world record, coincidentally, is a Sierra Nevada tap takeover held at Cannery Row Brewing Co. in Monterey, Calif., in 2012 with 70 beers.
But WOB already might be beaten: HopCat, a craft beer bar that opens Thursday in East Lansing, Mich., is hosting a 100-beer Short Brewing tap takeover that day.
