Cooks & Corks, one of several annual events during the week-long Scottsdale Culinary Festival every April, is declaring its independence. On Nov. 8, it will debut as a stand-alone event on the lawn at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North.
Still sponsored by Scottsdale League for the Arts, the charitable organization that runs the SCF, Cooks & Corks will be an “outdoor culinary tasting event spotlighting Arizona’s top local chefs and a world-class collection of winemakers,” according a League press release.
Four Seasons executive chef Mel Mecinas will serve a multi-course tasting menu with help from other prominent Valley chefs, including Frank Belosic and Lee Hillson (The Phoenician) Michael O’Dowd (Renegade by MOD), Matt Carter (Zinc Bistro, The Mission), Matt Taylor (Market Street Kitchen), and Beau MacMillan (Sanctuary Resort).
Tickets will be $95, and attendance will be limited to 250-300 people. Tickets will go on sale in late September when the event’s website, www.corksandcorks.org, goes live. The Four Seasons will offer a special $350 room rate (discounted from $419) for attendees.
