Is Tempe big enough for two Detroit-focused eateries? We’ll start finding out Friday when Detroit Coney Grill opens on Broadway just west of Hardy.
Michigan native David Najor will offer his home state’s signature Detroit-style coneys – beef hot dogs topped with all-meat beanless chili – as well as burgers, pitas, and salads. He plans to grind Angus beef in-house, hand-cut fries, and import natural-casing dogs from Detroit.
Like Sunshine’s Motor City Cafe, which opened last year in south Tempe and also serves coneys, Detroit Coney Grill will serve Michigan faves like Better Made chips and Faygo pop.
Detroit Coney Grill will be open 10:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
