Thursday: Ruby Red Pale Ale to debut at Hungry Monk’s Beer & Bacon Night

Last month’s Beer & Bacon Night was so popular The Hungry Monk has decided to do it every month. And the next one, this Thursday, will feature the debut of Grand Canyon Brewing‘s new grapefruit-tinged Ruby Red Pale Ale.

Bacon specials will include pork belly sliders topped with jalapeno slaw and siracha mayo, bacon street tacos, and a spinach-and-bacon salad with a grapefruit-bacon vinaigrette.

Ruby Red (5.0% ABV) is a collaboration with James Swann and Andrew Bauman – GM and brewer, respectively, of the soon-to-open Chandler pub and nanobrewery The Perch – and HDE Agency director Landon Evans.

The trio traveled to the Williams brewery in early August to brew the American pale ale with 21 pounds of ruby red grapefruit, 20 pounds of papaya, and five pounds of lemon.

Swann and Bauman, you may remember, also collaborated with Lake Havasu City’s Mudshark Brewery on RoadZoda, a tangerine-vanilla wheat beer, earlier this summer.
