It’s Thursday, which means craft beer promos around the East Valley:
• The Hungry Monk in Chandler is turning last month’s successful Beer & Bacon Night into a monthly event. Tonight’s kickoff will feature the debut of Grand Canyon Brewing‘s grapefruit-tinged Ruby Red Pale Ale. I wrote about the beer and tonight’s menu here.
• World of Beer in Tempe launches a weekly Beer 101 class with cicerone Zach Fowle tonight. From 7-8 p.m., learn about a beer style (tonight it’s wheat beers) and enjoy four free 5-ounce samples. The class is limited to 30 people; a signup sheet will be available at the bar at 6 p.m.
• Taste of Tops in Tempe welcomes Germany’s Weihenstephaner, which claims to be the world’s oldest brewery, for a tap takeover at 6 p.m. Original Premium, Hefe, Dunkel, Korbinian, Krystall Weiss, and Vitus will be on tap, and they’ll be giving away glassware.
• Sleepy Dog Pub in Gilbert hosts what it’s calling a Belgian beer festival at 6 p.m. but hasn’t released a beer list.
