Friday Dish: Free hot dogs at Pittsburgh Willy’s, new Four Peaks seasonal

By Jess Harter Friday, September 13, 2013

• Friday the 13th will be lucky for diners at Pittsburgh Willy’s in Chandler. Every 13th diner will get a hot dog of their choice for free today. Also, every customer can add a bag of chips to their order for 13 cents, and the children’s Little Willy hot dog is just $1.69 (that’s 13×13).

• Four Peaks Brewing unveils a new seasonal Oktoberfest today. But instead of a traditional Märzen, it’s a Vienna lager (5.5% ABV). The beer is on tap at all three Four Peaks locations, and growler fills are allowed.

• From 5-7 tonight, The Monastery in Mesa is tapping five fall seasonal beers: Abita Pecan Harvest, Grand Canyon Pumpkin Porter, Left Hand Oktoberfest, New Belgium Pumpkick, and SanTan Super Monk IPA. Pints are $5, and a sampler flight of all five are $5.50.

• Seven Valley Fresh & Easy stores will close in the wake of the troubled grocery chain’s sale to U.S. billionaire Ron Burkle. The locations were not identified officially, but stores at Gilbert and Guadalupe in Gilbert and Alma School and University in Mesa announced they are closing.
