Fired Pie – a new fast-casual concept that describes itself as the Chipotle of pizza, offering customized pies in less than four minutes – opens its first East Valley location today in the former Luke’s of Chicago space on the southeast corner of Price and Ray in Chandler.
The concept, which also has opened two locations in Phoenix, allows customers to choosing their type of dough, sauce, cheese and toppings. It also offers build-your-own salads.
Pizzas – which take just three-and-a-half minutes to cook in an open-fire brick oven – are 11 inches and cost $7.75 no matter how many toppings. You can choose from six sauces, six cheeses, 10 meats, and 14 veggies. There also are some suggested combinations, which also $7.75.
Salads likewise are $7.75. For dessert, there’s a “fired pookie” (a chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream) for $3. Craft beer ($4) and wine ($5) also are available.
“Everyone kept asking when we were going to make our way to the East Valley and here we are,” says Fred Morgan, one of the restaurant’s three founders along with Rico Cuomo and Doug Doyle. “You will not get a better tasting meal in less than four minutes.”
