Tour de Fat returns Oct. 5, warm up tonight at The Hungry Monk

Tour de Fat – New Belgium Brewing’s annual 12-city celebration of bicycles, music, and beer – stops at Tempe Beach Park next Saturday, Oct. 5.

The event, which encourages eclectic attire, begins with an 11 a.m. bicycle parade around north Tempe. Bands play on two stages from noon to 5 p.m.

And, of course, a bunch of New Belgium beers will be flowing.

There’ll be a “warm-up” from 5-9 p.m. today at The Hungry Monk in Chandler. A half-dozen New Belgium beers will be on tap, and a brewery rep will be on hand.
