Uncle Bear’s Brewhouse Grill, the chain’s first brewery, opens in Ahwatukee

Uncle Bear’s Brewhouse Grill – the local chain’s fifth location, but first with a brewery – opens its doors at 4:30 p.m. today in the former El Paso Bar-B-Que building on the southwest corner of I-10 and Ray in Ahwatukee.

Chef Craig Driml has stepped up the menu of bar food offered at other Uncle Bear’s location. It includes salads ($7.95-$13.50), sandwiches ($9.75-$10.95), burgers ($9.95-$11.50), 12-inch pizzas ($7.95-$13.95) and a half-dozen entrees ($9.95-$27.95).

See the full menu here.

The bar has 14 tap handles, nine or 10 of which eventually will pour Uncle Bear’s beers. For today’s opening, though, only three Uncle Bear’s beers are ready. The rest are guest craft beers.

Hours are 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
