You only have about 48 hours to reserve your seat for Chef Off Oktoberfest, the 12th in a series of friendly culinary competitions to promote East Valley chefs.
Wednesday’s battle will pit Larry Shore and his kitchen crew from host Barrelhouse American Kitchen & Cocktails against John Wong of sN Asian Kitchen in Mesa. Wong will get help from another Chef Off vet – Romeo Taus of Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert.
This round’s theme will be Oktoberfest. Each side will prepare three Oktoberfest dishes to be paired with German beers. Diners will get to try all six dishes, the three beers, and dessert for $60.
Chef Off, which will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Barrelhouse, is held every other month at a different venue. RSVP required: 480-857-8877.
