Please welcome AZ Food Crafters as MXSW’s newest sponsor. The locally owned hand pie bakery and cafe opened in February in a strip mall on the southeast corner of Alma School and Ray in Chandler.
By the time their bricks-and-mortar location opened, though, partners Eddie Castillo and Mike Caliendo already were well-known at Valley farmers markets, where people eagerly stock up on their tasty hand pies (similar to empanadas or hot pockets).
The hand pies come with variety of savory and sweet fillings. The cafe also offers healthy salads and freshly made soups. Hours are 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
