Thursday is The Hungry Monk‘s monthly Beer & Bacon Night from 5-9 p.m., and this month’s featured brewery will be Firestone Walker.
The eight FW beers on tap will include the Arizona debut of the California brewery’s experimental Agrestic Sour Wild Ale. It’s an American wild red ale (7.0% ABV) that has been aged in French and American oak barrels.
Also on tap will be Velvet Merkin, FW’s famed oatmeal stout aged in bourbon barrels (8.5%). It won the gold medal for barrel-aged beers at the 2010 and 2011 Great American Beer Festival.
A special food menu (click here for larger version) will feature bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers, proscuitto-wrapped shrimp, chicken cordon blue sliders, and a Big Monk BLT.
