Last week, I shared some pics of the new booths and banquettes at Liberty Market. The more-comfortable seating is part of what’s being called Liberty Market 2.0, an upgrade of Gilbert’s historic-grocery-store-turned-eatery for its latest incarnation’s fifth anniversary, which is today.
There are other changes, too. Better-defined aisles and new signage to improve indoor traffic flow. Local art and upgraded materials to increase visual appeal. And some new dishes, such as chorizo empanadas, Cuban and meatball sandwiches, San Francisco-style cioppino, and a red bean and rice burger.
To celebrate, Liberty Market is offering its classic Tower Burger (pictured) for $5 (normally $9.50) from 11 a.m.=9 p.m. today. You also can enjoy a 22-ounce Anchor Liberty Ale for $5 (normally $7). There will be special desserts and several drawings for gift cards.
