Kasseri Chicken (left) and Wiener Schnitzel will be two of the five featured dishes at this week’s “Taste of Romeo’s Euro Cafe†dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
If the dishes sound familiar, it’s probably because this week’s menu is the same as last Thursday’s. The dishes were so popular they’re being brought back for an encore.
The weekly dinners, hosted in a private dining room by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, highlight a rotating selection from the downtown Gilbert restaurant’s regular menu.
“Taste of Romeo’s†menu
- Feta Dill Fritters: A blend of gyros meat, feta cheese, fresh dill, spinach, and pine nuts. Served with yogurt sauce.
- Bleu Caesar Salad: Tomatoes, spring onions, red peppers, and capers, tossed with bleu cheese and Italian dressing on romaine lettuce with homemade croutons and anchovies.
- Kasseri Chicken: Pepperoncinis, kalamatas, roasted garlic, kasseri cheese, and black peppercorns layered with roasted red peppers in marsala cream sauce.
- Wiener Schnitzel: Lightly breaded and pan-fried pork cutlets with garlic-horseradishmashed potatoes, roasted pepper, and garlic jardinière.
- Cannolis: Traditional ricotta filling, sweetened and lightened with chocolate chips and fresh orange zest.
