Chick-fil-A opens in downtown Tempe on Thursday, 100 people will win free food for year Wednesday

The East Valley’s newest Chick-fil-A opens at Mill and University on Tempe on Thursday. On Wednesday, though, there’ll be a “First 100” giveaway.

For the uninitiated, every time a new Chick-fil-A opens, the first 100 people in line at the new store win 52 free sandwich meals, one every week for a year.

Before hauling out your tent and sleeping bag, though, be aware the national chain has developed rules that make it unnecessary to camp out all night.
