Zappone’s Italian Bistro to celebrate 1st anniversary with Feast of the Seven Fishes on Dec. 11

Given the ubiquitousness of Italian restaurants, a Feast of the Seven Fishes is a surprisingly rare event in the East Valley.

The Italian-American Christmas tradition, also known as The Vigil, typically consists of seven different seafood dishes, although it can include as many as 13.

Caffe Boa in Tempe is the only East Valley restaurant I can remember offering a Feast of the Seven Fishes in years past, but now there’s another.

Zappone’s Italian Bistro in Gilbert just announced it will celebrate its first anniversary with a Feast of the Seven Fishes on Wednesday, Dec. 11.

The family-style meal will feature seven seafood dishes, peppermint-chocolate cheesecake for dessert, and two glasses of house wine for $40 plus tax and tip.
