Welcome back, Avery Brewing.
The Boulder, Colo., brewery’s beers are back on Valley shelves this week after a two-year-plus absence, and Papago Brewing will host a “Welcome Back to Arizona” party at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The 20-year-old brewery pulled its beers out of Arizona in April 2011 because it couldn’t keep up with demand in Colorado. Now, after expanding production, Avery is returning to Arizona and seven other states.
According to Chuck Noll at distributor World Class Beverages, the Valley initially will get three of Avery’s five core beers – IPA, White Rascal Wheat, and Ellie’s Brown Ale – along with its Holy Trinity series (including Hog Heaven Dry-Hopped Barley Wine Style Ale) and some seasonals.
The beers will be available in bottles, cans, and on draft.
