Gilbert residents have a new bar and grill to check out: Copper Still Moonshine Grill opens at 11 a.m. today on the southeast corner of Gilbert and Williams Field.
The 3,840-square-foot interior is almost evenly split between a bar area, anchored by a U-shaped bar, and a dining area with booths and tables. There’s also a spacious side patio.
The menu offers a wide range of choices, although not all items will be available during the restaurant’s opening week.
The Scorpion Burger ($9 with side)Â seasoned with “Dry Heat” rub and topped with jalapenos is one of eight burgers. Others include the Flux Capacitor classic burger ($8) and the Grilled Cheese Burger ($9), a burger/sandwich hybrid on Texas toast.
The Sloppy Jose ($9.25 with side), pork chorizo sauteed with poblano peppers and salsa, highlights a list of 11 sandwiches. And that doesn’t include a separate menu of five grilled cheese sandwiches, including The Popper ($8 with side) with sauteed jalapenos, bacon, and cream cheese.
Copper Still’s Signature Macaroni & Cheese ($9.25) tops the pasta dishes. It’s made with penne in a three-cheese sauce topped with panko bread crumbs and served with a garlic baguette.
Entrees range from fish and chips ($10.25) to fajitas ($11.75) to bacon-wrapped jalapeno dogs ($8.50).
The bar features 12 beers (mostly craft) on tap and more in bottles, six kinds of moonshine, seven whiskeys/bourbons (including locally made Copper City Bourbon), specialty cocktails, “skinny” cocktails, and house wines.
Hours are 11 a.m.-midnight Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-2 a.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m.-midnight Sunday.
