One of the country’s most unique races – the Hot Chocolate 15/5K, which bills itself as the “world’s sweetest race” – takes place Saturday morning at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale.

The 5K event starts at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 15 K event at 8:15. Afterward, all finishers receive a Finisher Cup (pictured), which includes hot cocoa, chocolate fondue, and dippable treats.

Nearly 4,000 people competed in last year’s 5K, and another 2,500 in the 15K. Overall winners were Ricardo Maldonado of Fountain Hills (5K) and Lewis Elliot of Phoenix (15K).
