With Arizona Beer Week just over a month away, word on some of the more tantalizing events is starting to leak out.
Topping the list so far: A five-course rare-beer dinner at downtown Chandler’s Vintage 95 Wine Lounge on Tuesday, Feb. 18, with SanTan Brewing and Four Peaks Brewing.
Yes, you read that right. SanTan and Four Peaks – the state’s two largest breweries – collaborating on what’s being billed as “a dinner of historic proportions.”
Vintage 95 chef Michael Wahlberg has created a tantalizing menu of head-on grilled prawns, spiced chicken fritters, pan-seared frog legs, and a deconstructed feijoada (a Portuguese meat and bean stew) with crispy pork belly and grilled pork ribs.
Beers will include SanTan’s Saison di Aleatico, Heavy D (imperial Devils Ale), and Russian imperial stout, and Four Peaks’ Double Knot imperial IPA, Odelay Mexican chocolate ale, and Beer Week collaboration Weizenbock.

The cost of the 6 p.m. dinner is $65 per person. The first 100 people to arrive will get a special glass etched with the logos of SanTan, Four Peaks, Vintage 95, and Beer Week.
