The weekly “Taste of Romeo’s Euro Cafe” dinners at the downtown Gilbert restaurant on Thursdays have become one of the hottest tickets in the Valley.
This week’s dinner was an early sellout, as were several of the dinners in December. And this despite the fact owner-chef Romeo Taus (pictured above in black) added a number of special Tuesday dinners to accommodate the demand.
The five-course dinners highlight a rotating selection of five items from Romeo’s regular menu. Typically, this means an appetizer, salad, two entrees, and dessert.
This week, for example, diners will enjoy Spicy Lamb Potatoes, Panzanella (a new menu addition), Asparagus Eggplant, Pescatore (another new item) and Cheesecake Brownies.
The private dinners, which usually are limited to 16-18 people, are hosted by the affable Taus and his lovely wife, Janice.
The best part? The dinners are just $25 – a real bargain – and you can add five generous wine tastes for just $10.
Although the menu isn’t posted until Monday each week, you might not want to wait that long. To secure a seat at next week’s dinner, call 480-962-4224.
