Original Chopshop Company has confirmed rumors that have been swirling around downtown Chandler for a couple months: It will open its third Valley location next month in the former Kokopelli Winery & Bistro building on Boston Street.
Kokopelli, Arizona’s oldest continual producing winery, closed last May, with plans to reopen in October as Crust at Kokopelli Winery, a joint venture with Scottsdale-based Crust pizzeria and wine bar.
Crust, though, has had its hands full launching its own new concept, MyPie, and plans for the Kokopelli space apparently fell through.
Enter Original Chopshop, a health-focused fast-casual eatery offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Its menu focuses on chopped salads, sandwiches, protein shakes, and pressed juices. Nothing on the menu is more than $10.
The first Original Chopshop debuted in Scottsdale in February 2013. A second opened near ASU in July. The downtown Chandler location is expected to open in mid-March.
