Desert Durum Wheat Whiskey, the first Arizona grain-to-bottle whiskey, will be available for purchase starting a 1 p.m. Friday at Arizona Distilling Company in Tempe.

AZDistillingDesertDurumThe microdistillery will be selling 375-milliliter bottles of the historic spirit’s first run for $40. The whiskey is made from desert durum wheat harvested near Casa Grande.

Arizona Distilling was launched by Jason Grossmiller, Rodney Hu, Matt Cummins, Jon Eagan, and George Yu in 2012. It released its first product, Copper City Bourbon, in June 2013.

Arizona Distilling is located at 508 W. First Street in an industrial district just west of downtown Tempe. Turn in at the North Star Pipeline entrance and proceed to the Arizona Distilling block building at the back (north end) of the complex.
