Today’s AZ Beer Week highlights: Belgian & Sours Fest, Flood Relief Fundraiser & Snowbird tapping

Hump Day! Arizona Beer Week is half over…

Belgian & Sours Fest

Taste of Tops will host a 12-tap takeover featuring Duchess De Bourgeone, Monks Cafe, St. Louis Fond Geuze, Liefman, Goudenband, and more from 6-8 p.m. There will be a special opening of a 6-liter Mathusalem bottle of St. Bernardus Abt 12.

Firestone Walker Spotlight

If you like Firestone Walker beers, get yourself to The Hungry Monk tonight. Special tappings will include a keg of Sucaba at 5 p.m. and a rare keg of  Stickee Monkey (English barley wine, 15.6% ABV) at 6.

Ska Beers, Burlesque & Bands

Yucca Tap Room will have Ska beers on draft in the lounge and bands and burlesque on stage starting at 8 p.m. The Dark Hearts will be the music headliners. Breezi and her Deviant Dames will provide the sexy burlesque.

Deschutes Beers with Gary Fish

Meet Deschutes founder Gary Fish and brewer John “Abe” Abraham at 6 p.m. at World of Beer Gilbert. Enjoy Abyss, Black Butte 25, Great Lakes collaboration Class of ’88 Smoked Porter, Goose Island collaboration Class of ’88 Belgian Ale, and more.

Oskar Blues CAN’d Aid Fundraiser

From 2-11:45 p.m., World of Beer Tempe hosts the Oskar Blues CAN’d Aid Foundation fundraiser for the Colorado Flood Relief Fund. Oskar Blues beers will include a variety of nitro, rum-barrel-aged and whiskey-barrel-aged Ten Fidy.

Snowbird 3 Way

Huss will tap three kegs of the Snowbird Imperial Oatmeal Stout Collaboration Beer at 3 p.m. There will be a keg brewed at Huss, a keg brewed by Destihl, and a special keg of the Snowbird turned Imperial Oatmeal Cookie Stout.

Beer & Cupcakes

SunUp teams up with local bakery Urban Cookies for a tasting of four small beers paired with four mini-cupcakes made especially to pair with the ales from 4-10 p.m.. Limited number of sampler sets, so get there early.
