Hello, waffle taco! Taco Bell has announced it will roll out a new breakfast menu nationally on March 27. Items will include a waffle taco, an A.M. Crunchwrap, and breakfast burritos.
Taking aim at fast-food breakfast leader McDonald’s, Taco Bell also announced its breakfast menu will be available a half-hour longer – until 11 a.m. daily.
The waffle taco will feature a waffle wrapped around a sausage patty or bacon, with scrambled eggs and cheese and a side of syrup. The A.M. Crunchwrap is scrambled eggs, hash browns, cheese, and bacon, sausage or steak in a flour tortilla.
Among breakfast sales at limited-service restaurants, McDonald’s has 31% of sales, or $10 billion. Burger King is a distant second at 4%, while Chick-fil-A has 2.5%, according to Technomic.
