Champion Field, a sports bar and restaurant known for its support of community sports teams, is taking over the former Sleepy Dog Pub space at Val Vista and Williams Field in Gilbert, MXSW has learned.
It will become the family-friendly concept’s third location, joining ones in north Scottsdale and San Diego.
Champion Field’s compact menu offers four salads, five burgers, eight sandwiches, and four pizzas. Breakfast is served on weekends.
House specialities include Irish nachos ($8), a Cajun-spiced Fireball Burger ($10), and a Cuban sandwich ($10).
Remodeling of the space has not begun, and no opening date has been targeted. But we’re guessing Champion Field will be open by football season.
