This week’s ‘Taste of Romeo’s’: Greco-Roman Chicken, Veal Pirata

Intoxicated Love (pictured) will be the finale of this week’s “Taste of Romeo’s Euro Cafe” dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The five-course dinners, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, highlight a rotating selection from the Gilbert restaurant’s regular menu.

March 13 “Taste of Romeo’s” menu:

  • Baked Bleu Tomatoes: Layers of fresh tomatoes crumbled bleu cheese. Baked. Served with an Italian roll.
  • Roasted Eggplant Salad: Roasted eggplant, red peppers, kalamatas, green chilies, carrots, garbanzo, balsamic vinegar and olive oil, Romano-parmesan, romaine lettuce.
  • Greco-Roman Chicken: Grilled breast of chicken with zucchini, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, pepperoncinis, tomatoes and black olives in lemon-olive oil with tomato foccacia.
  • Veal Pirata: Walnut, almond encrusted veal shoulder scaloppini with sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, red peppers, asparagus, capers and roasted garlic in marsala cream over linguini.
  • Intoxicated Love: Dark chocolate, Grand Marnier, milk chocolate and Kahlua, white and milk chocolate layers kissed by Jack Daniels.

Cost is $25 per person, and you can add five wine tastings for another $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
