The Hungry Monk hosts a tasting from 5-7 p.m. today with Eel River Brewing, the first certified organic brewery in the United States.
Besides using organic ingredients, the Fortuna, Calif., brewery packages it beer in recycled materials, uses recycled wood for tap handles, feeds the spent grain to its own herd of cattle, and has its own wastewater pre-treatment facility.
Certified organic beers on tap will be Triple Exultation Old Ale, Earth Thirst DIPA, California Blonde, and Dry Hopped Red.
