Professional baseball parks never have been known for reasonable prices, but a $25 corn dog?
Meet the D-Bat Dog, an 18-inch corn dog the Arizona Diamondbacks will sell at Chase Field this season.
Virtually the size of a small baseball bat, the battered dog is stuffed with cheddar cheese, jalapenos, and (of course) bacon. It’s served on a bed of French fries with sides of chipotle ketchup and spicy mustard.
According to AZ Central, the Texas Rangers debuted the Boomstick  – a 2-foot hot dog with chili, nacho cheese, jalapenos and onions – for $26 last season.
(If this is an MLB trend, I shudder to think what the Milwaukee Brewers will concoct.)
For those looking for something more “wallet-friendly,” the D-Backs also will offer a Sonoran Dog (a hot dog wrapped in bacon with pico de gallo, beans, and mayo) for $7 and a Venom Dog (a 12-inch habanero sausage with black beans, guacamole, pico, and sour cream) for $10.
