MWC Bistro, a spinoff of Ahwatukee’s My Wine Cellar, opens today in the former DownUnder Winebar building on the northeast corner of McQueen and Warner in Gilbert.

Like its sibling, MWC Bistro offers more than 30 wines by the glass, although the wine lists vary slightly. Over time, owner Zoya Vora-Shah says the Gilbert wine bar’s customers will determine the offerings.

The food menu is identical to that in Ahwatukee. Besides the expected noshables like meat and cheese plates ($11-$23) and bruschetta (three for $11), there are salads ($8-$10), flatbreads ($10-$12), and entrees ($12-$19).

Happy hour is from opening until 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Specials includes $5 glasses of wine and large beers, and $2 off selected appetizers.

MWC Bistro is open 3-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 3-11 p.m. Friday, and noon-11 p.m. Saturday.
