Andalusian Baked Eggplant (pictured) and Chicken Veneto will be the two main dishes at this week’s “Taste of Romeo’s Euro Cafe†dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
The five-course dinners, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, highlight a rotating selection from the Gilbert restaurant’s regular menu.
March 27 “Taste of Romeo’s†menu:
- Vegeta Skins:Â Grilled hearts of palm, artichokes, onions, peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, Italian dressing, and provolone.
- Hellenic Salad:Â Gyros, feta cheese and yogurt over mushrooms, green pepper, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, and romaine.
- Andalusian Baked Eggplant:Â Fennel sausage, roasted red peppers, pine nuts, spinach, red onions, scallions, and fresh garlic. Sauteed in olive oil, and baked over eggplant with feta cheese.
- Chicken Veneto:Â Chicken breast, whole black peppercorns, capers, spring onion, mushrooms, and garlic in Marsala cream sauce
- The Night Before:Â Dark chocolate souffle nestled on a bed of coconut macaroons and edged with pecans
