Goose Island Brewing holds week of promotions around East Valley

Make room for more snowbirds: It’s “Migration Week” in the Valley for Goose Island Brewing.

Goose Island, a pioneer in Chicago’s craft beer scene, entered the Arizona market last November, and it was only a matter of time before it launched a week full of tastings and promotions here as it has in other markets.

(Disclaimer: Two years ago, Goose Island was bought by giant Anheuser-Busch/InBEV, which now makes its core beers at production facilities around the country.)

At 5 p.m. today, The Perch in Chandler will host a Goose Island tap takeover with 312 Urban Wheat, 312 Urban Pale, Bourbon County Brand Stout, Honker’s Ale, Matilda, Sofie, Rasselbock, and IPA on tap.

At 7 p.m., there will be a “flash flock” at Spokes on Southern in Tempe with live geese, goose trivia, and some Bourbon County brands.

On Wednesday, there’ll be a five-beer mini tap takeover at Mad Dog Saloon from 4- 7 p.m., and six beers on tap for a special cigar pairing at Fox Cigar Bar in Gilbert at 7 p.m.

Thursday, The Hungry Monk in Chandler will have eight Goose Island beers on tap and some special food pairings from 5-7 p.m., and a 6 p.m. tap takeover at Boulders on Broadway in Tempe with some unspecified rare beers on tap.

From 5-7 p.m. Friday, Fibber Magees in Chandler will have nine Goose Island beers on tap.

Finally, the promo week will end Saturday with a “Wild Goose Chase” starting at noon at Casey Moore’s in Tempe. Participants will follow clues to find five golden eggs hidden around the city. Top prize is a trip for two to Chicago.
