Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert will host a special wine dinner with Pillsbury Wine and The Fish Hugger at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Pillsbury produces award-winning wines at its vineyards in Cochise County in southern Arizona, and the Wine Spectator has called owner Sam Pillsbury one of the “Rising Stars of the Southwest.”
The Fish Hugger harvests salmon from Alaska – the only sustainable salmon fishery in the world – and raises grass-fed cattle near the Kiowa National Grasslands in New Mexico.
March 31 Pillsbury & Fish Hugger wine dinner menu:
- Kodiak Stack: Roasted potatoes, scallion, and peppadew peppers fritters with Andrew’s own cured gravlox, pickled cucumber, red onion, and herbed yogurt wasabi dressing (paired with 2011 Pillsbury Chardonnay)
- Mediterranean Suk-kegh: Sockeye salmon with avocado, green onions, ginger, roasted garlic, truffle oil poke-stuffed piquillo peppers, orzo, kalamata olives, grape tomatoes, feta cheese, red radishes, capers, and red leaf lettuce (2011 Pillsbury “One Night Stand†Rose)
- Kiowa Beef (pictured): Grass-fed/grass-finished beef, osso buco-style, with soft polenta, smothered winter greens, gremolata, and chipotle sauce (2011 Pillsbury “Divaâ€)
- Dark Chocó-berry (2007 Pillsbury Petite Syrah Private Reserve)
