The reopening of Pittsburgh Willy’s in downtown Chandler is still a month or so away, but pierogi will return Wednesday – for one day only – at its sibling restaurant, Wimpy’s Paradise.
Wednesday always was pierogi day at the original Pittsburgh Willy’s in the Merchant’s Square antique mall. Owner Randy Walters and his family laboriously made the traditional eastern European dumplings by hand each week.
Since Pittsburgh Willy’s closure in February, though, fans have had to do without.
Now, from 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m. (or whenever they run out) Wednesday, Wimpy’s Paradise in downtown Chandler will be selling potato-stuffed pierogi in a butter sauce and kielbasa (Polish sausage):
- Four pierogi and drink ($5.45)
- Six pierogi and drink ($7.75)
- Four pierogi, sliced kielbasa, green beans, and a drink ($8.75)
- Six pierogi, sliced kielbasa, green beans, and a drink ($9.95)
