Just another slow summer weekend with nothing going on in the East Valley? Hardly. Saturday brings us not one, not two, but three major craft beer events.
Arizona Beer Fest
From 5-10 p.m. Saturday, Spokes on Southern in Tempe will hold their second annual beer fest. Last year, the event was limited to one distributor, but this year’s is open to all Arizona breweries.
Participants will include Four Peaks, SanTan, Arizona Wilderness, Fate, Huss, Papago, Sonoran, Dragoon, Borderlands, Oak Creek, Prescott, Wanderlust, and more.
Tickets are $25 online or $30 at the door and include 15 4-ounce pours.
SourFest 2014
From 11 a.m.-closing, World of Beer Tempe will celebrate lambics, Flanders ales, Berliner Weisses, and other tart brews with its first-ever SourFest.
Destihl, The Bruery, Marble, New Belgium, Funkwerks, Crooked Stave, and He’Brew will be among the breweries represented by the 20 or so beers on tap.
There’s no admission charge. Beers will be sold on an individual basis.
Scottsdale Beer Palooza
From 1-6 p.m., the first-ever Scottsdale Beer Palooza – from the guys behind the Arizona Taco Festival and the Arizona BBQ Festival – will be held indoors at  WestWorld.
The 40-plus participating breweries represent a mix of Arizona and out-of-state. There also will be live music and food trucks.
General admission tickets are $40 for 20 samples. VIP tickets are $60 for 25 samples and early entrance at noon. You can buy online here.
